W/? Best Build for Prophecies
Well I have recently come back to Guild Wars after 2 years of a break from all gaming. I have only one level 20 char which is a warrior. Thus, i am hoping that someone here might be able to help me in finding a build for Prophecies which is the only GW game i have. In the build I would appreciate what armour, runes, insignias, weapon, shield, attributes are neccesary to make the most out of it.
I would like to thank you all in advance and ill be sure to watch this thread (well i did start it didnt i)... anyway the best Warrior build for PvE I dont mind what secondary because I can always get the skills as long as theyre in Prophecies (Core).
Thankyou all.

when I only had proph, I ran this build for a while:
sword:
sever
gash
final thrust
healsig
endure pain
riposte/deadly riposte(was watch yourself, but that got nerfed)
glads defense
rez of choice
I have also taken out glads defense and put in hundred blades for more damage, but that build has great survivability, especially from melee.
axe:
eviscerate
axe rake/twist
penetrating blow (sp?)
executioners
healsig
endure
optional (was watch yourself, but that got nerfed)
rez of choice
have taken out eviscerate and put in glads defense, but again it is all up to preference. just make sure you don't use healsig in the middle of battle unless you are under glads if you brought it.
armor really doesnt matter, I just liked the glads skin so when I came back it had radiant insignias. headpiece you'll want +1 to weapon and a rune for weapon. other runes would be strength, maybe tactics for healsig, and vitae/vigor depending on funds.
hope that helps

I sense much failing in those suggestions.
@OP: Is this for normal PvE, HM, and do you have many elites yet?

Unfortunately, its pretty slim pickings as far as skills go when you only have 1 campaign.
That eviscerate build posted above would probably be the best way to go. Except, endure pain and penetrating blow are generally kind of crappy skills. I would take those out and put in an IAS (like Frenzy), cancel stance (like Rush), and "For Great Justice!" (for faster adrenaline gain)

If you're adamant about Axe, just run Eviscerate, Penetrating, FGJ, Cyclone Axe blah blah blah.
The best Proph only War build is probably Earthshaker.
W/any
12+1+1 Hammer Mastery
12+1 Strength
-Earthshaker
-Crushing Blow
-Crude Swing
-Counter Blow
-Frenzy/Flurry
-Sprint/Rush
-"For Great Justice!"
-Resurrection Signet
Any armor, Zealous hammer if you take Flurry.

Although I haven't got campaign specific builds in there, theres a build template, you could try to peice something together from that.
With Proph only builds, you're best off going axe (eviscerate, executioners, etc) or hammer (earth shaker, etc, was already posted)

Sword is lacking since you don't have DSlash.

Sword is lacking a strong elite in Prophicies however it still has some nice skills that can work very well.
[sever artery][gash][galrath slash][final thrust][savage slash]
Thats a very effective attack chain for most of Prophicies.
[Skull Crack] can be a very effective elite skill if your going with swords and have only prophicies.
Add [Frenzy] and [Rush] to fill out the bar and it will get you through most all of Prophicies.

Yeah. That is what I do is go axe unless you go with A Leprechaun sword build. It looks pretty good and solid.

Honestly you can still play the best build for warrior with just prophecies.
[eviscerate][executioners strike][bulls strike][frenzy][rush][res sig][shock] through something like [healing signet] in the last skill slot.

Personally I'd drop [["Watch Yourself!"] and [[Resurrection Signet] for [[Frenzy] and [[Rush], but newer players probably won't want to let go of their rez.

swordsmanship 12+1+1
tactics 12+1
[sever artery][gash][final thrust][savage slash][battle rage]or["Victory is Mine"][Healing Signet][Balanced Stance]or["For Great Justice!"][resurrection signet]
with 2 conditions, you can 120 health and 12 energy (when using Victory is Mine) a good way to save your skin, you could also add other conditions based on your 2ndary, you can also add hamstring.
use FGJ with Battle range, and Balanced stance with VIM

Battle rage is not a good elite by any standards and using your elite skill slot for a self heal is a very bad move for most wars.
Search for the IAS thread to find out all the reasons why Battle rage is an inferior skill.
As for Victory is mine if your already running Healing Signet you should not need a second self heal, much less one that is conditional and Elite.

The only thing that is missing is sever artery and I would keep the res signet but if this for PvE I wouldn't use rush.No.You don't a zealous weapon an elemental is what you need in this case fiery.

yeh id use this but instead of bulls strike which doesnt really make sense unless youre foe is running away which isnt most of the time, would it be suitable to replace this with [axe twist] to add extra damage to the evis?
and also instead of res signet put [rebirth] because i dont res ppl in the midst of a battle and restore life is good because i wont be in a battle so energy can recharge and it gets out of aggro zone and teleports player to me so i think is better than res signet.
thanks for all your help.
